Big News!

I have an announcement to make: I have received so many requests from all of you for recipes and techniques that I decided now was the time to buckle down and focus on a collection of them in an ebook for you. More details to come soon on this!

This means, however, that I won’t be able to spend too much time posting on this blog so I can focus on this amazing ebook. I have a lot of fun guest posts planned from some great bloggers and….I am going to do a weekly giveaway to keep you all entertained!

Each Sunday I will give you a choice of giveaway items to vote for on my Facebook Page. And then each Monday I will post the giveaway. I will announce the giveaway winner on Thursday of each week.

Giveaway Week 1: Fido Fermentation Jar Set

So here we go…this week’s reader’s choice giveaway is my favorite Fermentation Jars – a set of 3 sizes! I use these jars to make all of my fermented foods (what are fermented foods?) including sauerkraut, kefir, pickles and the BEST fermented mayo and ketchup!

    I’m determined to start eating a lot of fermented food, but it’s intimidating to start! I loved your post on using these jars. After a host of issues, my son, daughter and I are trying to regain a balanced gut. I would love to stop buying probiotics, but I have to figure this out first! First on my list would be sauerkraut, then ketchup (my little guy would love this!), pickles, dilly carrots, garlic, then on to more adventurous foods!

    I’d love to make some kimchi – we just jarred up our first batch of sauerkraut – a giant head of cabbage from our CSA box required a 5 gallon jar! We could definitely use some smaller jars for fermenting!

    We have a couple Harsch crocks going with our plain sauerkraut, but I’ve never gotten around to fermenting anything else. Kimchee? Beets? Fermented ketchup? So many options!

    This is a cool give-a-way. We became organic two years ago. About 4 months ago, we started making sauerkraut because I had so much left-over cabbage. About 3 months ago, the home-made yogurt endeavors began. The goal is 1-2 or more cups of whole organic yogurt daily for the rest of my life. What is lacking right now is the Fido Fermentation Jars. We would use the fermenting jars right away and often. They would provide the new energy to move forward. Striving to do it better, easier, and with more joy is what we are after!     I have made so many positive changes in the past year from starting to exercise, to cutting out processed food, wheat and dairy. One of my next steps is to start incorporating fermented foods. I have tried sauerkraut and would like to try the ketchup and kefir.
