Let’s Talk Common Sense
I’m not a doctor. I’m not a dietician. I’m a cook. I write recipes and have no claim to specialized medical or nutritional training. I do not dispense medical advice, I do not have a degree in health, medicine or nutrition (how many different ways can I say that?). I only discuss my own experience and what worked for me or my family. If you need medical advice, find a local doctor or nutritionist to provide it for you.
The disclaimer on the footer of every page of this site states:
The information contained on Homemademommy.net is meant for educational and informational purposes only. We’re cooks, not doctors nor dietitians. We do not dispense advice on curing nor treating any health ailment or disease.
Statements on this website have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Products and/or information are not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent any disease. Readers are advised to do their own research and make decisions in partnership with your health care provider. If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are taking any medication, please consult your physician. Nothing you read here should be relied upon to determine dietary changes, a medical diagnosis or courses of treatment.
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click them and then purchase from that company, I will receive a small commission. That commission is used to pay for this site. Hosting a blog with decent traffic and turning out recipes isn’t free. By using my affiliate links, it’s like you’re leaving us a tip. We greatly appreciate it as it encourages us to crank out more awesome recipes.
We only affiliate with companies and products we personally use and love. I will not endorse a product or company without having tried them. It isn’t ethical. I will not run a giveaway for or do a review of a product I haven’t used.
We don’t sell our list of names, e-mail or physical addresses for newsletters or anything else. I hate spam and I’m not going to send any your way, either.
We do host giveaways on our blog from time to time. Again, I will not do a giveaway on a product I have not personally used. When I write my review of a product, I will be honest in my evaluation of the product. Sometimes a company sends me something in hopes I’d like it and endorse it and gives me an opportunity to give one away to a reader, too. Other times, I like a product I’ve personally purchased so much that I’d like to give one away to a reader, too. I’ll tell you which is which in the post.
If a photo is not credited on this site, it’s a photo I have personally taken. I have invested time and money into buying the right equipment to get decent shots of my food and making stock photos for use on my own website. Please ask permission before using my work, I’m a nice person and you don’t have to be afraid to ask. I don’t bite. Then please give me full credit when you do receive my permission to use the photo. Play nice. Just one small link back to my site makes me happy. I don’t ask for your right arm in exchange for you using my photo.
If the photo doesn’t belong to me, I will include an image credit so you can click through and find the photographer.
