What we ate today – 09/22/12

This post is part of Homemade Mommy’s ‘what we ate today’ series. I post what both I ate and what I fed my 3 year old daughter to give this community ideas on how to eat real food and that it is possible to feed a child REAL food.

What a fabulous first day of Fall in Austin, TX!  The farmer’s market was so crowded I almost got annoyed with all the people (plus I think got asked to register to vote about 10 times!) but then remembered that this is a good thing – the more people that come to farmer’s markets the better!  I was able to get some pickled beets started – they will sit in my pantry for the next month and get nice and sour.  I did this successfully last month with beets and I can’t tell you how different they taste when they sit for a month vs. just a few days – really really nice robust flavor.  I hope you had a great day too!
