Warm Cinnamon Applesauce

Warm Cinnamon Applesauce

The following is a guest post from Sylvie, who blogs over at Hollywood Homestead. For more of her great recipes and posts you can check out her blog.

When I first transitioned my kids to a real food diet I was surprised to find out just how many products I was buying had wonky ingredients in them–like high fructose corn syrup, loads of unnecessary refined sugar or unpronounceable chemicals.  I was shocked that applesauce was one of those things…  I guess I fell for the apples on the label. They must have forgotten to include the photo of the high fructose corn syrup. I mean, applesauce should really be just that: apples cooked until soft enough to become “sauce” consistency.

My kids LOVE applesauce and of course the stuff I was buying was no bueno.

Luckily, homemade applesauce is super easy to make ahead and freeze for the kids or for yourself!  This recipe is Fall inspired and is best served warm.
