It’s time for my December giveaway! I always love doing these giveaways but this one in particular is truly special. These giveaways are my way of giving back to the Homemade Mommy community because if it were not for all of you loyal readers, then who would I be doing this for?! I wanted this month’s giveaway to be HUGE so I’m joining with some other real foodie bloggers and offering a a $1000 Amazon gift card! I know everyone could use a little extra money during the holidays!

  2. I am a teacher and with half that money I would buy materials for my students to use in class. The other half I would use to buy exercise clothes and a pedometer because I really need to start taking better care of myself

  3. I would purchase an ice cream machine and some cookware. Anything left over after that would be for my kiddo.

  4. I’d use it to get Christmas gifts for my children. Tight year because of medical bills and health problems, but this would definitely make things easier.

  9. I would use it as a spring board for finally getting into fermented foods! I need a lot of information and supplies and this would be a great reason not to put it off anymore!

  13. I would get a dining room set so we can start having family dinners at the the table and not the couch. We have a baby girl due in March 2014 and I would start purchasing things to get ready for her arrival. I would get her a crib, dresser, breast pump, nursing pads, and crib bedding set. I would start stocking up on diapers and wipes. I would buy my 15 month old son news books and toys. There is so much lol!! I would get a new camera and a kitchaid stand mixer to make baking a lot easier for me. I would also get new pots and pans.

  14. I would use part of the $1K gift card to buy an excellent blender (like Vitamix)for my kitchen, which I really need for green smoothies with my family. The remainder would be split between the kids for Christmas gifts.

  15. If I won, I would save it and slowly use it over the next year for books for home education, gluten free groceries for my son, and some fun things for my husband and children.

  16. My amazon wish list big items right now are a Big Berkey water filter, a pressure cooker, and a waffle maker! Also lots of grocery specialty items like chia seeds and coconut oil.

  17. I would buy a new refrigerator and use the remaining amount to stock up on mason jars and pantry supplies.

  18. I don’t ‘really’ need anything for myself (though I do have some wants), but I would love to give my kids a couple of great gifts and then make sure that more Angels from the Angel Tree have a great Christmas… thanks for the great giveaway!!!

  19. I just started making the homemade items and am giving this stuff away to my family at Christmas. If I won the gift card, I’d probably get more items to create product for an Etsy shop. I’m really enjoying tweaking recipes into my own creations! Thanks for the opportunity.

  20. Wow. That’s a lot of money. I wish I could use it for things we need like new tires for the car and replacing the windshield…and gas. But if I win, I’m sure we’ll find things on Amazon too. Will this work on Amazon Local? Sometimes they have deals on there we can use!

  21. I would buy a much needed pressure cooker and new baking pans for myself then use the rest of the money to teach my son the joy of giving back. We would buy and deliver random gifts for people in need.

  29. I would buy a light weight double stroller (one where the baby goes in the back by mom and the seat upfront is for the older child I need one come february). A set of stainless steal pots and pans (I need new ones without teflon…my teflon ones are almost back to silver from the dishwasher after 5 years). I’d let my husband and kids get one thing they want too. He would probably get a tool and my daughter would chose something barbie or princess and I would get a giant frog bumpidoodle pillow for my son so he could have one like his big sis (who has the monkey).

  33. My husband and I just closed on our homestead and will be taking possession in January. I would buy either a riding mower or a hen house and poulets to begin raising layers and broilers.

  46. This is an incredibly generous giveaway for which my family and would be immensely grateful because we would utilize it to buy much needed items for our health. We recently discovered that one of our children is allergic to both chlorine and fluoride. We therefore need to install water filters all over our home for both drinking and washing purposes. This giveaway would make that possible. If there was anything leftover, we would purchase le crueset cookware.

  50. We live in an area where obtaining healthy/organic food is more like a scavenger hunt & next to impossible. Winter also lasts 7-8 months with some crazy below temps so getting out with my babes to do the scavenger hunt to get the few available items just can’t always happen. SO! We would buy healthy ingredients to be shipped here! This would be fantastic!

  77. I’ve sat here for over twenty minutes thinking of what I would use it for. I know I need to get more BPA free items for the kitchen and replace all my plastic bowls with glass. I would love an extra crockpot so that I could make yogurt and stock simultaneously. I definitely would use it for homeschool supplies and homemade lotion supplies.   88. Trying to outfit a kitchen for a traditional diet has been one of the challenges in making the transition to a 100% real foods on a limited income.   89. I would use it to buy some Paleo cookbooks, some materials for our family homeschool room and some gifts to make my families Christmas a little nicer. Money is tight this year as we have spend tons on care from natural doctors (they don’t except insurance and insurance companies won’t cover them). My 10 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with Vitiligo and Hyperthyroidism.   91. First I would buy the starter kit for Young Living Essential Oils. Then I would buy more Raw Shea Butter, and Organic Coconut Oil and make lots of lotions and mixtures. That right there would make my year! It is all I think about.

  123. I could use a good crock for sauerkraut and other supplies to get me started on fermenting at home. Also supplies to help build my garden up (expand) next Spring. I could think of so many necessities to help my family get more healthy! We currently lack the extra funds to gather supplies, though I’ve been doing it very little by little when we could.   148. What would I buy with this $1000 Amazon gift card? Well I would start off with helping my good friend who is a single mom, with 3 children and works 2 jobs. She gets no government assistance as she does not believe in living off the government. Then I would finish up shopping for our 2 children and my the rest of my family.   160. Gosh – Well, I just started fermenting vegetables this last summer, and would probably get some containers, maybe a crock. Also a larger container for making kombucha than I now have. And some good kitchen equipment (e.g., a Vitamix, a good food processor) to simplify food prep.

  172. What a great giveaway!! What couldn’t you buy with 1,000 smackaroos? My first investment would be to introduce all of my friends and family to coconut oil! It’s so multifunctional and incredible for the body; why wouldn’t I invest in the health of not only myself but the health of the people I love? I would also use the money to fill my parent’s house with healthy goods. They have been feeding me all my life; it would be nice to give back. Lastly, I would use the money help me transition overseas. I’m moving to South Korea to teach English to foreigners and some of the healthy products in American can’t be obtained over there. I’d love to have some healthy staples to feel more at home over there!

I lead (volunteer) an Art Journaling Prayer group and many cannot afford the art supplies.
