Income Producing Activities (IPAs)

You made it! We shared a TON of great information right? We’re going to continue next week with some extra credit assignments. This week was all about the basics of getting started with your Young Living business. If you’re behind, take the weekend to catch up.

So today, let’s talk about how to get things DONE! It’s easy to get distracted into busywork and think it’s real work. What are some examples of this? Designing business cards, starting a blog, creating a website, working graphics and logos, scrolling through Facebook, mailing out a ton of samples, going the post office, etc.

While these things MAY help your business sometime in the future, they can often be a distraction and take you away from what we call income producing activities (IPAs). What is that? These are activities that will have a direct impact on your Young Living paycheck.

Here are some examples of IPAs:

  • Share a story of how an oil or YL product has helped you on your social media
  • Schedule 3-4 classes on your calendar
  • Set up 1:1s with friends
  • Invite people to a class (be sure to do this 3-4 days before your class too)
  • Teach a class
  • Enroll a new member
  • Follow up with friends who haven’t taken the oily leap yet
  • Offer an incentive to those who haven’t enrolled yet to encourage them to get started
  • Help a member enroll on Essential Rewards
  • Tag new members on the commissions post in the Homemade Mommy Essential Oils – OA Member Facebook group

WOW! Aren’t these examples eye-opening? IPAs are the activities that will directly impact your Young Living paycheck. So how do you handle samples, time at the post offices, time on Facebook, etc.?
