About
Welcome to Homemade Mommy!
I’m Lindsey. I work a full time corporate job at a software company, am a wife to an amazingly supportive husband and mother to a 3 year old daughter and I blog about food. Real Food. I find the time and make a commitment to homemade cooking because eating this way has truly changed mine and my family’s life. Ditching processed food has helped us heal from a number of ailments including asthma, allergies, recurrent sinus infections and ADHD.
Real food is….
- good, healthy fats like butter, coconut oil, chicken and beef fat and olive oil
- pastured eggs
- grass fed meats
- fermented vegetables and condiments
- whole raw dairy and coconut milk
- properly prepared grains and legumes and grain free recipes
- recipes containing natural sweeteners vs. refined sugars
- bone broths
- obtained locally where possible
- homemade
- seasonal
- breaks all the dietary rules we have ever been taught!
Real food is not…
- from a factory or lab
- full of chemicals
- marketed in brightly colored packing with mascots with nutritional claims
But how do I find the time? I sometimes feel like this:
but I no longer get this reaction:
Let’s discuss…Join the conversation on my blog or over on Facebook to learn how to transform the way your family eats and get tips on how to make this transition work for your family. I am not a scientist or a researcher but I am passionate about achieving vibrant health and am happy to share my experiences and stories with you in the hopes that it will help you forge your own path.

Hi,
My name is Rose and I work for a data visualization/infographics company – oBizMedia.
One of our clients recently asked us to create an infographic about prop 37 and I knew little to nothing about prop 37, let alone Monsanto. I have spent the last few months reading about this topic. I am amazed with the information that I have found. I will be voting yes on Prop 37 and feel that we need to get the information out to the public. Please feel free to look at this inforgraphic and share it.

Thank you

Lindsey, As a chiropractor who’s been preaching this sermon for over 25 years I just want to applaud you for keeping it real. It’s swimming up stream to be sure but well worth it.
Thanks!
Hi, just going through the list from the LiveMom party and adding folks on Twitter and G+, and figured I should let you know that your G+ button link is missing a colon after the https. I worked around it and added you there anyway but figured you might want to know. You can delete this comment if you like too.
I’ve been on a 3 year leave of absence to stay at home with my 3 kids (1.5 yrs to 7 yrs). I’m at the cusp of deciding whether to return to work and daunted with how to cook for my family, spending time with my family, and working at the same time. So glad I found your blog, and am hoping it helps me make my decision soon!
I hope so! I am planning on an e-book soon to help you out further with tips and techniques an recipes!
